Terms of service
Springy is operated by Sachin Kafle, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Last updated 24 August 2026.
Trial
Fourteen days from the day your line goes live. No card is required to start. The trial runs on your real missed calls, not a sandbox. If you do nothing at the end of it, the service stops — you are not rolled onto a paid plan automatically.
Billing
Monthly in advance, in Australian dollars, inclusive of GST. There is no setup fee, no minimum term and no exit fee. Cancel any time before your next billing date and you are not charged again; the service runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
Founding rates are limited to the first ten Melbourne businesses. A founding rate is held for as long as your subscription runs without interruption. If you cancel and later return, the rate current at that time applies.
Fair use
Plans include a monthly allowance sized for a single small business:
| Plan | Included | Past that |
|---|---|---|
| Text | 500 SMS segments | 4c per segment |
| Voice | 250 call minutes | 29c per minute |
| The Lot | 500 segments + 250 minutes | as above |
A segment is 160 characters of plain text. Emoji and curly quotation marks halve that to 70, which is why the agent is written to avoid them. Allowances are per account and do not accumulate month to month.
We will contact you before charging overage for the first time. Sustained use far beyond the allowance — bulk campaigns, autodialling, anything that is not inbound missed calls — is outside fair use and we will discuss a different arrangement rather than silently bill you.
Carriers and diversion
Diverting an unanswered call is a service your telco provides, and its cost is set by them, not by us:
| Carrier | Unanswered-call diversion |
|---|---|
| Telstra postpaid | Included in most plans |
| Vodafone postpaid | Included in most plans |
| Optus postpaid | Charged per minute, around 11c |
| Prepaid, any carrier | Varies; we issue a Springy number instead |
We check your carrier before your line goes live. Diversion is set with a short code on your handset and removed with another. You keep your number and your handset throughout.
Numbers
Where we supply a Springy number, that number is provisioned by us from an Australian carrier and remains ours. It is yours to use for as long as you subscribe. If you cancel, we will co-operate with any porting request your new provider makes, but we cannot guarantee a number is portable — that is the receiving carrier's decision. Numbers you already own remain entirely yours and are unaffected.
Messages
Springy replies to people who have just called your business. It does not send marketing, and it does not message anyone who has not contacted you first.
Every conversation accepts STOP. A person who sends STOP is not messaged again, on any account, permanently. This is honoured across the whole platform rather than per customer.
You are the sender of record for messages your agent sends. You are responsible for the content you configure it to send — particularly prices, availability and any links. Australian law that applies to you here is the Spam Act 2003.
What the agent does and does not do
- It asks about the job, the location and the urgency, and passes what it gets to you.
- It does not quote prices, confirm bookings, or commit you to anything, unless you configure it to and supply the figures yourself.
- It answers a limited number of turns and then hands over to you.
- Abusive, unintelligible or clearly misdirected messages produce no job card.
- It is a language model. It can get things wrong. Every job card carries the full message thread so you can see exactly what was said before you ring back.
Springy is a backup for calls you miss. It is not an emergency service and must not be relied on for urgent safety matters.
Privacy
We hold what the conversation produces: the caller's number, what they said, and the details they gave. Call recordings and transcripts are kept where you have Voice.
- Conversation data is retained for 90 days, then deleted. Job cards persist until you delete them.
- We do not sell data, and we do not use your customers' messages to train models.
- Sub-processors: Cloudflare (hosting), Twilio and Mobile Message (telephony), Groq and OpenAI-format model providers (language model), Vapi (voice), Stripe (payments).
- Ask and we will export or delete your account data. Reachable at [email protected].
Handled in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Your customers' data is yours; we process it on your behalf.
Ending it
Cancel by telling us — email, text or a phone call is enough, and there is no retention script. Remove the diversion from your handset with a short code and your phone behaves exactly as it did before. We will export your job history on request.
We may end an account for non-payment, or for use that breaches the Spam Act or these terms. Where we do, we will say why and give you your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Nothing here excludes any guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
